**Guide Section:** UNITS | **EASAP Tree:** UNIT MANAGER

A **DIMENSIONAL GROUP** represents a specific type of measurement, and it is used to define the unit of measure derived from the **BASE UNITS**

**EASAP→USER INTERFACE→UNIT MANAGER→BASE UNITS**

For instance, an example of a **DIMENSIONAL GROUP** is ‘Velocity’, and its unit of measure can be derived from particular **BASE UNITS** entered into the equation 'Length' divided by 'Time' (**m**/**s** or meters/second).

You can examine the existing **DIMENSIONAL GROUP**'s under the **DEFAULT UNITS** sub-branch for examples of its use.
