EXCEL SERVER TYPES is a branch on the Configuration Tree of the Compute Server Tool. It is a Parent to EXCEL SERVER TYPE objects.

By specifying a name for an EXCEL SERVER TYPE an Administrator may group certain types of Excel Servers, for example by Excel version, or by the types of addins needed within Excel for certain EASAPs.

An Excel Server may be associated with multiple EXCEL SERVER TYPE's. The association is set in COMPUTE SERVER LIST→LOCAL EXCEL SERVER's Excel Server Types: parameter which accepts one or more existing EXCEL SERVER TYPE.

An EASAP can be authored to specify a particular EXCEL SERVER TYPE. The EASA system then knows which Excel Servers it should use for that application.

Below we declare two EXCEL SERVER TYPE's and set the Excel Server Types: parameter in COMPUTE SERVER LIST→LOCAL EXCEL SERVER to use them.
