The Excel Range Wizard features several advanced configuration options, with which some of the default behavior of the Wizard can be overridden. They are presented in three panels at the bottom of the Choose Excel File window.
Creation Rules | |
---|---|
Application Style | By default, the wizard will attempt to replicate the visual style of the Excel spreadsheet. To disable this behavior, select ‘Web Form’ style. |
Tab Creation | By default, ranges selected from different sheets will be placed in different tabbed pane objects to preserve the structure of the Excel workbook. If you wish for all selected ranges to be placed in a single TABBED PANE, select ‘Single Tab’. |
Excess Spacers | Since empty cells are converted into Spacer objects, this can result in a large number of spacer objects in the EASAP Builder tree. By default, these SPACER objects are merged where possible. You can use this option to disable this behavior. |
Extracts | If you wish for the wizard to ignore images, form controls or charts during the creation process, you can unselect them with the check boxes shown here. |
Optional Rules | |
Remove | Using these options, you can set the wizard to completely ignore columns smaller than a defined width, and rows smaller than a defined height. |
Ignore contents | These options behave in a similar way as the ‘Remove’ options, however the rows or columns will still be represented. The contents of the cells within will not. |
Ignore empty | Using these options, you can override the wizard’s default behavior of processing empty general cells that are referenced by other cells, and processing empty formatted cells. |
Exclude Rules | |
Exclude Formulas | Used to specify Excel formulas that you wish for the wizard to ignore when calculating dependencies, such as VLOOKUP. |
Simplify Formulas | This option can be used to simplify certain formulas such as OFFSET, by ignoring irrelevant parameters. |
Exclude Sheets | Used to specify excluded sheets. Formulas in excluded sheets will not be considered during dependency calculation. |
