EASA's system requirements depend on the configured role each particular computer plays within the EASA system.
The three computing roles are:
There are no special requirements for a Database Server.
EASA is a high-level programming language, thus EASA applications vary in their computational resource requirements. The system requirements listed below are recommendations based on typical use cases. Performance and practical system requirements will depend on the specific application, system configuration and usage scenario of the EASA system.
Additionally, an Excel Server requires more computational resources than the other server roles. See EASA Hardware Requirements.
The above requirements can be adjusted downward for low-user or low-complexity EASA deployments.
In addition to the above, an up-to-date RHEL or Debian distribution or a derivative is recommended
(eg. Ubuntu, CentOS).
If you plan to use Linux for your EASA Server, we recommend using a well- supported, current distribution.
Web Browser Client must have:
EASA Client must have:
EASA supports communication with Compute Servers running the operating systems below:
For additional details on configuring Compute Servers see Configuring Compute Servers.
It is common for an EASAP to utilize a 'live' Excel spreadsheet. This type of EASAP requires at least one dedicated Excel process per simultaneous User. In a large or computationally intensive spreadsheet this requires significant CPU and memory. In addition to the software requirements below, an Excel Server has very specific hardware requirements as well.
An Excel Server requires one of the following 32-bit versions of Microsoft Excel:
The Excel version above needs to be running on one of the following operating systems:
Office 365 is not supported in this version of EASA.
EASA requires the Office feature called Visual Basic for Applications, found under 'Office Shared Features' in the feature tree when customizing the installation of Office.
EXPORT TO PDF requires 'Excel 2007 Service Pack 3' or later Excel version.
'Excel 2007' versions prior to 'Service Pack 3' can be upgraded with the official plugin from Microsoft to use with EXPORT TO PDF.
In all cases, the 32-bit installer of Excel must be used even when installing on a 64-bit operating system.
EASA supports only the English language version of Excel.
