Practical Session 7

Practical Session 8: Testing and Publishing your EASAP

Estimated completion time = 10 minutes.

In this final practical session, you will be using authoring tools within EASA for testing and then publishing your EASAP. EASA contains a testing area for each EASAP under development, so that each version of an EASAP can be validated prior to users accessing it. Once it has been tested and is ready for release, publishing and thereby deploying the EASAP is accomplished by a single button click.

Please follow the instructions below to complete this practical session.

Let's start by testing our EASAP.

  • Set EASA→Set Mode→Author and check EASA→Applications→My EASAPs to see that “Currently selected EASAP:” is our 'Stock Screener'
  • Select Test EASAP link on the EASA→Authoring→Testing page.

The following window will appear:

  • Select ‘NASDAQ’ for the Exchange, and then select ‘Basic Industries’ for the Sector.
  • Click the Search Stock Data button to view your results in the table.

The table should look like the following:

  • Click the Create Report button to generate your report.

A window will appear with the message “EASAP submitted successfully”.

  • Click OK.
  • Go back to the EASA→Authoring→Testing page in the browser and you will see a new row in the table of Test Results.

  • Click on the View Results button ( ) in the Output column for the test run just submitted.

The following will appear in the browser window:

If the test run does not proceed as illustrated above or the report does not look like the one above and you are unable to determine the cause of the problem, then contact your instructor or EASA support representative. At this point, you may need to go back to EASAP Builder and make changes to your EASAP to fix any problems.

If the test run was successful, then your EASAP will now be ready for publishing.

  • Go to EASA→Authoring→Publish in the browser.
  • Add a relevant comment in the input area provided and then click on the Publish button.

You will then be taken to a new window that states that “The EASAP has been successfully published”. Next, you can check whether your EASAP will be visible to Users on the EASA system.

  • Select EASA→Set Mode→User.
  • Now click on the EASA→Applications tab and then select ‘Training’ as the Category.

Your EASAP will now be visible in the Applications table. If you like, you can open up your EASAP, modify some inputs and then submit it to run as a User. As a User the output from an EASAP run will appear in the EASA→Results→My Results tab.

  • You can now Log Out of EASA.

At this point, the EASAP is ready to be deployed to Users.
