EXCEL SERVER TYPES

EXCEL SERVER TYPES is a branch on the Configuration Tree of the Compute Server Tool. It is a Parent to EXCEL SERVER TYPE objects.

By specifying a name for an EXCEL SERVER TYPE an Administrator may group certain types of Excel Servers, for example by Excel version, or by the types of add-ins needed within Excel for a particular EASAP.

An Excel Server may associate with multiple EXCEL SERVER TYPE's. The association is set in:

  • COMPUTE SERVER LIST→LOCAL EXCEL SERVER
    • Excel Server Types: parameter (which accepts one or more existing EXCEL SERVER TYPE)

In the Builder the Author will need to specify a particular EXCEL SERVER TYPE. The EASA system then knows which Excel Servers it should use for that application.

An Example

Create:

  • Two EXCEL SERVER TYPE's
    • excel server type1
    • excel server type2

Now use one of them. Set the below parameter for:

  • COMPUTE SERVER LIST→LOCAL EXCEL SERVER
    • Excel Server Types: excel server type1
